The Appeal

Alfa Romeo’s original Giulietta is that most Italian of 60s saloons: to the casual observer it looks like a conventional three box saloon. Drop behind the wheel and you discover the soul of a sports car.

Because essentially that is what the Giulietta was – beneath the sober bodywork was the heart of a the Giulietta Sprint coupe.

A light restyle in 1961 updated the aesthetics but more importantly delivered a 20% power hike to the more potent TI. This car featured the firm’s brilliant ‘bialbero’ twin cam, an engine so good it remained in production until the 1990s.

This immaculate ’62 TI has been used sparingly since a comprehensive restoration that covered bodywork, interior and mechanicals. Finished in appealing ‘baby blue’ with ASI certification and a long condition certificate, this is a tempting example of one of Alfa Romeo’s finest saloons.

The History and Paperwork

The Condition

Very appealing Azzurro Spazio light blue paintwork finished to a high standard
General condition reflects the comprehensive 2018 restoration and sparing use
Bodywork presents well with clean panels, consistent panel gaps and good panel fit
Paintwork is of a very high order with good finish and brightness
Treated with an anti corrosion epoxy finish
Restoration involved replacing the door sills and floors amongst other areas
Underside presents very well with only very light cracking to arch stoneguard to note
Chromework is very well kept, possibly refurbished, with no visible tarnish
Lights in similar condition with good colour, no cracks or misting
Smart factory correct steel wheels with chrome hub caps and matching restored spare
Interior retrimmed to factory specification and very well presented throughout
Monotone fabric and vinyl seats showing good cushioning, shape and trim
Grey carpets through cabin appear virtually new and protected by quality rubber mats
Headlining replaced during restoration and clean and unmarked
Boot area in good order with correct factory Alfa Romeo branded rubber flooring
Interior chromework appears to be original, carries light patina but adds to charm
Speakers let into rear parcel shelf but this is done discreetly and suits style
Door cards factory correct and have been carefully retrimmed to retain original style Painted dashboard with anti-glare black top, all in good order with only very minor marks

Period correct radio likely factory fitted let into dashboard
Neat details abound inside like the Alfa Romeo branded pedal rubbers

The Mechanics

Engine rebuilt in 2018 and is said to run perfectly with nothing needing done
Post 1961 TIs got this more powerful version of the engine

We are told the car has covered 5,000kms since the 2018 engine rebuild
Electrics restored during restoration and we have no reports of any issues
