The Appeal
If there is a better early Capri in existence than this incredible 1300L, then we’d really like to see it. It is a Polar White Mk1 that has been subject to a £60,000 restoration. That work is said to have covered every aspect of the car and delivers what the vendor describes as a ‘brand new Capri.’
With that introduction, and when you check the photos, you will likely not be surprised to discover that Alex Hirschi has featured this car on Supercar Blondie, and it has appeared in several magazines. It is a concours-quality example and as a February ‘69 build, likely one of the earliest survivors of Ford’s ‘car you always promised yourself.’
As a collector-grade car, it pays close attention to factory-correct detail. Inside and out, it has been restored but does not vary from standard. It appears to have been little used since completion, so it shows few signs of use - we struggled to spot any, but if you do, let us know.
This is a top-quality early Capri. Whether you’re here because you have to have the best or you want to relive your youth, this is one not to miss.
The vendor says:
“Offered here is a 1969 Ford Capri 1300 L, a truly exceptional example that has undergone one of the most comprehensive restorations imaginable. With over £60,000 invested, every single detail has been addressed. The result is nothing short of a “new” 1969 Capri, presented in absolutely showroom condition.
“This car is believed to be one of only 14 left worldwide in this specification. It is highly unlikely that another exists that has been restored to this level of precision.
“Recognised by the press and collectors, it’s already established as a reference example – a Google search on rare Ford Capris brings up this very car.
“With classic Ford values rising and early Capris gaining recognition as highly collectable, this is not just a car, but a serious investment opportunity.”
