Phase 2 – benefits from updated suspension design from Renault 5 Turbo
Mostly original car with straight body
Imported from Germany in 1985 with first owner, UK owned since
Mechanically maintained to a high level
The Appeal
Alpine, an independent sports car tuner turned Renault subsidiary, made a name for itself with the A110 after winning the Monte Carlo World Rally Championship in 1973.
The A310 as presented here is the successor to the A110, and likewise sports a strong history in motorsports, having won the French Rally championship in 1977. It was unveiled at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show, impressing onlookers with its one-piece glass fibre body shell mounted to a tubular steel frame.
This Phase 2 example is presented in a classic white colour with a complementary blue interior. Still in excellent mechanical shape from its excellent maintenance and upkeep, this Alpine is a very usable example, with a few areas such as the interior beginning to show their age. As such, it would be a great base for a rolling restoration project or else could be driven and enjoyed exactly as-is.
