The Appeal
Alfa Romeo pulled no punches with this one. Taking the sonorous and charismatic Busso V6 and sticking it in a relatively diminutive, front-wheel-drive Hatchback could be prescribed as madness as equally as pure genius. To this day, it's one of the most high-octane hot-hatches you can buy, difficult to master but enormous fun to learn. True modern classic territory, then!
This particular example holds special significance as the vendor reports it's confirmed to be the last 147 GTA ever produced, rolling off the production line on March 5th, 2007 - but it doesn't end there. This car also carries a custom Ferrari Scuderia Rosso paint finish from new - a brighter, more orange-red hue than the standard Alfa Rosso - complemented by upgraded 18" GT Blackline wheels and performance enhancements including a Supersprint exhaust system and KW adjustable coilover suspension.
It's a car with a fascinating provenance for such a short, well-kept life. The vendor notes:
"Successive sellers have claimed that it was originally built for use by 2007 Formula 1 World Champion, Kimi Räikkönen. Rumours abound around this car and Formula 1 drivers. Sadly, this has not been confirmed, but it would perhaps explain why this car is painted in Ferrari Scuderia Rosso instead of the usual ‘Rosso Alfa’."
