A lovely Bavarian quality custom cruiser that always draws favourable comments at the Ace Cafe, a bike that stands out and was 007's bike in the James Bond movie, Tomorrow Never Dies.
A very well maintained bike through its 22 year life with documented service history, last serviced at 19, 283 miles and the present mileage is 19, 529, averaging less than 1, 000 miles per year. The bike looks pretty much spotless in excellent condition both cosmetically and mechanically. It has been stored in a garage and only used in fine weather. The bike is fitted with alarm immobiliser and data-tagged.
I checked out several R1200C's before buying this particular one, thanks to its condition. This R1200C features some extras, e. g. the BMW comfort leather pillion seat with wrap around deep chrome grab rail for comfortable 2-up cruising, a smoked Speedster screen (like sun shades) and the Wunderlich rear wheel hub-cap.
This R1200C also benefits from braided brake hoses (firmer, sharper braking), Brembo pads and Avon Cobra Chrome cruiser tyres. One thing I didn't like was the throttle response at lower revs, the jerkiness when riding around town. After some research, this was addressed with an InMotion tuning chip from Austria. The bike rides beautifully around town now with much smoother running with faster / smoother pick-up on throttle without hesitancy and a bit more grunt that's noticeable when riding up a hill with a pillion.
Also included are the centre service / storage stand. The bike is currently on a cherished private plate, appropriate for a cruiser. The original BMW books, service history book, invoices, spare key, alarm booklet, standard ECU chip and tools set are all present. This bike is ready to be enjoyed for that cruise around Europe or to add to a collection of fine appreciating bikes.
