1987 Ford Capri 2. 8 Injection – Low Mileage, Extensive Refurbishment in Progress
We have just taken this very interesting 1987 2. 8 Injection Capri in part exchange against a 3. 0 S.
This is a very straight car with some areas of bodywork requiring improvement and repainting. The vehicle is currently Paris Blue. It was refurbished a number of years ago, during which time the colour was changed from Black to Paris Blue. This was done extremely well, with a full colour change carried out inside the boot, under the bonnet, and throughout.
After careful consideration (although there is still a small window to keep it Paris Blue), we have decided to return the car to its original factory colour: Black, as it left the factory in 1987. The work is now underway.

Bodywork & Paint
• Currently in a professional bodyshop refurbishment facility
• Full repaint underway, including bare metal in various areas
• Engine to be removed so the engine bay can be correctly prepared and painted
• New rubbers to be fitted, including windscreen and sunroof seals

• Both front seats removed
• Driver’s seat bolster wear being professionally refurbished
• Dashboard to be repaired for normal age-related sun cracking
• Period-correct radio, fully working
• Tilt-and-slide sunroof works exactly as it should (including the slide function, which many no longer do)

• Just four previous owners
• Stamped service book up to approximately 43, 000 miles
• MOT history from around 45, 000 miles to present
• Excellent supporting evidence to support the mileage

• Very recently had approximately £1, 200 spent on a full mechanical check-over
• Drives beautifully — genuinely one of the best 2. 8 Injection Capris we’ve driven

Summary
This is going to be a really lovely example of a 1987 2. 8 Injection Capri.
With low mileage, a full repaint back to its original colour, and excellent mechanical condition, we believe this will be a very sought-after car when completed.
The refurbishment is expected to be finished early March.
