Ford Corsair Deluxe (1663cc V4) – Utterly Original
The Ford Corsair was introduced at the London Motor in October 1963. The new model had bold styling, with a sharp horizontal V-shaped crease at the front that gave the car a jet-like styling that was well received by the public and press alike.
Our 1968 Corsair was owned for 43 years by the first owner, George Bethell, and covered under 30. 000 miles from new. The car has never been restored and the silver fox paintwork, chrome and interior are all absolutely stunning. This low mileage car was laid up in 1984 when the owner retired from driving and his son kept the car in a heated garage with limited use until it was sold in 2012.
We originally purchased the Corsair in 2015 and at this time we sold her to a collector in Jersey. We were delighted to be offered the car again this year – such original cars are few and far between.
The history folder includes owners handbook, service book, invoices, tax discs, and the original Bill of Sale indicates that Mr Bethell went for just about every option available including spot lamps, deluxe wheel trims, wind deflectors, head rests…the list just goes on and on.
Just over 100 Corsairs now survive and this excellent/ original/ unrestored example is an exceptional opportunity to purchase an extremely rare 1960’s Ford that will grace any classic car collection and can only go up in value.
