The Attractions
Benelli and Motobi merged in 1962, creating a very specialised company, particularly focused on the production of small motorbikes. Sold under both brands, the 125 Sport Special was a perfect representative of this vocation, and proved to be an excellent base for elaborations and customisations. This model was very successful among enthusiasts, and soon tuners began to offer a wide range of modifications.
This example is an Imperiali Sports Special, so called because it was rebuilt and tuned as a competition bike by the famous Roman tuner Augusto Imperiali. The single-cylinder Benelli/ Motobi motorbikes prepared by this legendary workshop enjoyed great success in competition in the 1960s and gained a considerable reputation, not least because of their fantastic looks!
Thanks to its lightened crankcases, handcrafted exhaust, tuned engine and reinforced racing chassis, this single-cylinder is ready to make its mark in the world of classic racing, but it is also a very pleasant vintage bike to ride, which will also be appreciated by enthusiasts who want to use it on the road.
