The Appeal
The Alfa Romeo SZ (Sprint Zagato) boasts one of the most daring and distinctive designs to emerge from Italian automotive industry in the late 20th century. Originally designated ES-30 (Experimental Sportscar 3.0 Litre), this radical sports coupé was the result of a collaboration between Centro Stile Fiat and Zagato, with its unconventional styling by Centro Stile Fiat's Robert Opron and Antonio Castellana, earning it both admirers and detractors - but never indifference.
This 1991 example, number 849 of just 1,036 units produced, offers a rare opportunity to acquire one of these automotive icons in exceedingly good condition. Recently imported from Japan, where it received an Auction Grade 4, (very good condition for a vehicle over 30 years old), this SZ has been thoroughly serviced by Alfa Romeo specialists in 2024. Now registered on historic plates in Poland, this distinctive piece of Italian automotive history combines rarity, striking design, and the legendary Busso V6 engine in one compelling package.
