The Appeal

It only took twelve years after the MGB's departure from the market for it to appear in another - far more modernised - form. Powered by a rumbling V8, with an obvious lineage dating back to their most successful car, the RV8 boasted a luxury trim, muscular aesthetics and enough character to rival the car it was inspired by. The unique blend turned plenty of heads. Only 1,983 were built, the overwhelming majority of which went to Japan, where a fixation with Cool Brittania was in full swing.

This RV8 was repatriated to the UK in 2019, and has since enjoyed a very pleasant, care-free lifestyle. The vehicle has been regularly serviced, with a comprehensive history file that includes the original Japanese service book. Always garaged and covered, this RV8 presents well and is ready for its next adventure, upgraded with electric power steering and a newly fitted hood.

History and Paperwork

Registered in 1995
The Japanese owner history is in the document folder (the car had 3 registered keepers in Japan)
Imported in 2019 from Japan
The car was bought in July 2021 and has always been garaged with a fitted cover
As a result the current owner is the only one to have used it in the UK
The original Japanese service book is in the document folder with all service history carried out at the correct intervals
The car has been serviced regularly by the current owner, with receipts in the folder
Since 2019, the car has only had one MOT advisory (play in the steering rack and ball joint) which were replaced, and it has passed all MOTs since then advisory-free

The Condition

The paintwork is original and presents well with just a couple of minor marks
These are hard to spot unless you're looking for them, and don't detract from the car
The car's overall condition is very in line with its remarkably low mileage
The wheels and tyres are in fine fettle
The underside of the car appears in smart condition, likely due to its life in Japan
The interior is in lovely condition with just the usual minor wear to the leather seats
The wood trim, dashboard, and carpets are in good condition, with only light signs of use
The car is cleaned after each use and garaged with a fitted cover to preserve the paintwork
