The Appeal

The X308 was the final evolution of a design born in the 1970s and is generally regarded as the last of the traditional Jaguars. This model evolved the retro styling of the X300 but with a more modern interior and, above all, the introduction of a brand-new 4.0 V8.

This late-1997 car is a high-end Sovereign with the long-wheelbase layout (LWB), offering rear legroom comparable to that of a limousine. It is painted in Spruce Green, paired with Cashmere leather and walnut veneering. The seller says they are the fourth owner and bought the car in 2022. Since then, €12,000 has been spent on mechanical work, including engine sealing, timing, suspension, alternator, catalytic converter, gearbox oil change and a cooling-system overhaul. The MOT is valid until September 2026.

Judging by the extensive file, this well-equipped Sovereign has evidently been meticulously maintained throughout its life. Here is a chance to sample a fine example of Jaguar’s excellent saloon.
