The Appeal

In the immediate post-war years Britain’s manufacturers were being pushed to export. The nation’s bike manufacturers looked to America where bigger, more powerful bikes were in demand.
Norton followed Triumph’s lead by introducing the Model 7 Dominator, its name a virtual calling card for what was, at the time, the firm’s most powerful bike. It blended the new and the old, the firm’s first vertical twin fitted into the guts of the earlier ES2.
The Model 7 is therefore a key part of Norton’s history and survivors are highly collectable. This 1954 example is surely one of the best we’ve seen, little used since a £8,000 restoration executed to a very high standard.
