Highlights
- Very rare Series 1 Land Rover
- Owned by the vendor for approximately 15 years
- Evocative working patina
The Appeal
This was really where it all began. The Series 1 Land Rover was one of the most important vehicles in history - the beginning of a marque that outlived its original purpose and became a backbone of pastoral Britain and beyond. Built with surplus aluminium from the war effort and consisting of remarkably simple mechanics, it was the natural mid-point between car and all-purpose utility vehicle.
This 1955 example retains much of its original character and presents in honest, age-commensurate condition. Having been in the vendor's possession for approximately 15 years and previously owned by a family friend, this Series 1 has clearly been cherished and preserved rather than restored to an unrealistic standard.
