The Appeal
With its dramatic Pininfarina silhouette, the MGB GT has rightfully become celebrated as one of the most attractive British classics out there - indeed, it's often likened to a 'Baby Aston Martin', which for a significantly ore affordable car is no slight: it's the highest praise you could ask for! Besides the looks, of course, it's still a familiar MGB formula - cheap, fun, and with excellent parts availability.
This 1970 example captures that MGB GT formula beautifully, maintaining its factory standard specification - including the remarkably rare automatic transmission - and still running as ever it has. Having been purchased as a "stopgap" classic while the vendors main classic was having its engine re built, this MG has proven itself to be more than a temporary solution, participating in several Car & Classic events over the past year without missing a beat.
