The Appeal
The Dino was quite the unique proposition when it first rolled out of Maranello. Penned by Bertone rather than their common collaborators at Pininfarina, this was a sharp, angular bit of wedge-shaped engineering that crossed boundaries and divided opinion back in '73. Time has been exceptionally kind, though - it's now one of the most iconic Italian cars in history.
Today, the GT4 is increasingly recognised as one of the more distinctive and characterful ways into Ferrari V8 ownership, rarer than the Mondial or the later 308 GTB/GTS models that followed it with a distinctly retro-futurist character.
This 1975 example was supplied through Charles Pozzi, the marque's official French importer. It has been in the hands of its current owner since July 2003 - some 23 years - forming part of a small private collection and used for family drives, classic vehicle exhibitions, and rally outings. Throughout this custodianship, the car has been maintained by a Ferrari specialist and stored under its protective cover in a garage.
With matching serial numbers, a Carte Grise de Collection, and a Contrôle Technique valid until 2031, this is a grand proposition that's bound to garner plenty of interest at auction. image.png1.6 MB

This is a particularly handsome car. The bodywork in good order with only gentle signs of wear commensurate with the car's advancing years. We can't spot any substantial dents or dings, and the bages and branding are all present and correct. Originally picked out in blue, we have to say that the red is near-synonymous with Ferrari for good reason.
The interior is equally well-presented, with slight wear to the upholstery and everything looking very original. The instruments are clean and legible, the headlining is in good order, and the dash is well-kept. image.png3.38 MB
The Mechanics
2,927cc V8 powerplant
Manual transmission with 5 gears
Alternator has been replaced
Electronic ignition fitted
Orbisound stainless steel exhaust fitted
Koni front shock absorbers fitted
8 carburettor trumpets fitted, with the old air filter available
The vendor reports the car is in good working order overall
The 308 was the first production Ferrari to boast the rear-mid-engined V8 layout that would become such a big part of the marque's identity. It's easy to see why - the 308's performance was lauded, with plenty of charisma on tap and fine, balanced handling carving out a very impressive reputation.
This example is largely standard, with gentle upgrades making for an altogether eminently drivable sports car without losing an ounce of that beloved Ferrari theatre.
