The Appeal
Trust Triumph to build the Sprint. Evolving the sober, suburban Dolomite into a race-tuned sports saloon could only have been the work of the Coventry concern.
It was clever too. Advanced 16 valve technology delivered 127bhp, trumping rivals from Germany, while the nimble rear drive layout provided similarly exhilarating handling. Inside, in contrast to its rivals, there was character a-plenty with its wood-trimmed traditional style.
Practical and reward to drive, the Dolly Sprint makes a great choice for modern enthusiasts. This British Racing Green example is ready to use and enjoy thanks to an extensive recommissioning process by the seller. This work included servicing alongside attention to the brakes, cooling system and carburettors. The head has also been carefully rebuilt.
The car is tidy and solid, with some scope for the buyer to invest and improve. But with the keys to one of Triumph’s best driver’s cars, getting out and enjoying it will surely come first.

The Condition

- Underside recently checked and undersealed with Lanoguard
- Straight bodywork with good panels and arches and sills appear well kept
- Standard car that retains its distinctive factory vinyl roof and alloy wheels
- Tan fabric interior in good order with brown carpets
- Some signs of wear and age inside but these appear to be light
- Wood veneers complete and well kept with only light patination visible
- We are told that everything works including lights
