The Appeal
Manufactured between 1977 and 1985, the Typo 116 Alfa Romeo Giulietta was based on the capable Alfetta platform, utilising its perfectly balanced transaxle drivetrain and Nord twin-cam engine to great effect in a compact executive saloon.
Few survive, especially in right-hand drive, so this South African 1981 Giulietta is not to be missed for anyone looking for a corrosion-free example. Since arriving in the UK in 2001, this Alfa has been cherished by all five of its UK keepers, featuring in magazine articles, participating in various events and receiving a great deal of maintenance. Its mechanicals have been sympathetically upgraded with numerous aftermarket performance components and the vendor informs us it’s outputting 121 bhp at the wheels on a rolling road. Accompanied by a substantial and carefully curated history file, this Giulietta is ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
