The Appeal
To this day, the R107 SL remains a perennially popular classic and it's easy to see why. Seldom is a car so well-engineered, beautifully made and nice to look at in equal measure. Mercedes-Benz made over 237,000 of them over the car's eighteen-year production run.
This 1982 280 SL has had a great deal of attention and money lavished upon it in recent years. Following a comprehensive overhaul in 2009 that included an engine rebuild and an upgrade to a luxurious leather interior, its been well-maintained with over £4,000 spent on judicious upkeep. Its Signal Red paintwork was recently polished and ceramic coated and the car is stored under a cover in a London parking garage. The vendor has completed several long journeys during their ownership and informs us that the car has always behaved brilliantly on the open road.
For those seeking a cherished and thoroughly sorted example, this 280 SL has a great deal to offer.1Ext 3.jpeg4.83 MB
