The Appeal

Europe likes to think it invented the MPV, but as this Townace proves, that isn’t true. Toyota introduced its first version way back in 1976 to deliver a luxurious, commodious way for many people to get from A to B.

The rebodied R30, effectively the third generation, arrived in 1992 and is perhaps the one we know best thanks to its ‘space age’ styling. This 1993 Townace is the top specification ‘Super Extra’ model with AWD and the economical turbodiesel 2L 2C engine. It is highly original and looks resplendent in two-tone bronze with an extensive velour interior. With just 85,000 miles from new, it is in very good order inside and out. There is space for eight people and the rear seats fold into a bed, if needed.

It arrived in the UK in 2004 and has passed through few keepers since. It comes to market with a recent service and fresh MOT that runs to July 2026. This Townace is as much aspiring classic as it is practical people carrier and it is in great order.
