The Appeal
The Alfa Romeo GT was unveiled at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show and would prove to be the final production model penned in-house by Alfa Romeo. It was also something of a masterstroke. Beneath its achingly handsome Bertone-designed bodywork sat Fiat’s versatile C-platform, shared with a variety of far more ordinary models, yet the GT cleverly combined the style and proportions of a coupé with the practicality of a spacious hatchback.
Several engines were offered, but the first owner of EK05 ZKG made the inspired decision to specify the range-topping 3.2-litre ‘Busso’ V6. Widely regarded as one of the finest-sounding six-cylinder engines ever fitted to a production car, it is every bit as visually appealing thanks to its distinctive polished intake runners. This example further benefits from the fitment of a stainless-steel exhaust system which, according to the seller, enhances the soundtrack without becoming intrusive.
Benefitting from ULEZ compliance and an MOT valid until later this year, this Alfa Romeo presents a compelling case as a stylish retro daily driver, while remaining perfectly suited to weekend B-road drives, road trips and enthusiast events alike. image.png1.89 MB
