The Appeal
As cars get ever more complicated, the appeal of Colin Chapman’s simple Seven and its modern Caterham equivalents just grows and grows. Of the many modern iterations, it’s Caterham’s Roadsport that arguably sticks closest to the purity of the original, particularly when, as here, it’s equipped with the revvy 1.4L K-Series and the planted DeDion rear end.
You won’t miss this 2006 example thanks to its yellow paintwork. It is a really tidy example that was built in 2006 and has had just three keepers in its life, the current one since 2017. The total mileage is still under 25,500 miles. The history file shows servicing to June 2025 and replacement head gasket, water pump and cam belt in 2020, which the vendor says was merely a precaution. Other notable work includes wheel refurbishment in 2019 and ceramic coat paint treatment in 2024. The current MOT runs to September 2026 with no advisories.
The car comes with wet weather gear, so it is ready for a British summer!
The vendor says:
“This is a brilliant car to drive. Completely analogue no frills proper driving experience. Always brings a smile to the face when driven both by the driver and onlookers. The colour really pops in the sunlight. Fun fun fun! Part of the family during ownership.”
