The Appeal
It would take three years for Bentley to launch a convertible version of its excellent Continental GT. When it came to developing a folding roof, Crewe naturally asked the best in the business - Karmann of Osnabrück. The Continental GTC could achieve 189 mph with its roof down and 191mph with its roof up. No mean feat!
This 2007 example is surely among the smartest and best-kept examples on the market today. The vendor tells us:
"I bought the car last August with the intention of keeping it to use each summer but reluctantly I need to sell the car. It came with an extensive history of being well maintained but the bodywork needed some attention, and it also needed the underbody braces replacing.
"The underbody has been renovated and the braces replaced. The wings and doors were removed and any rust was removed and treated, the wings and doors refitted and the resprayed this work has been carried out to a very high standard at a cost of nearly £6,000 the body work is now in a very good condition.
"The car is very nice to drive with the power of the twin turbo 6 Liter W12 engine with a 6-speed auto transmission. It’s a dream to drive and it glides along with ease. It is a very good-looking car with its Silverlake blue colour and Beige and cream upholstery. The hood is bark blue and automatically goes up and down by the press of a button. it comes with the personal number plate."
