The Appeal
In 1960 Eric Carlsson piloted a Saab 96 to his first victory in a RAC Rally. 50 years later, with the storm clouds of doom gathering over its Trollhattan factory, Saab celebrated the fact with the 9-3 Aero Carlsson. Appropriately, just 96 were made available.
These cars, then, are among the greatest, rarest and most desirable modern Saabs. The grunty 2.8L V6 is good for 276bhp, delivered via a 6spd Senstronic automatic gearbox and the firm’s clever, rally-inspired ‘XWD’ all wheel drive system. Carlsson-specification electronic LSD plus lower and stiffer suspension sets these cars apart from more humdrum 9-3s.
The enthusiast acquired this car keeper in 2021 and has continued the tradition of its previous keepers of regular, scheduled maintenance.
Looking very classy in black metallic over cream leather, this is a very well kept example. It comes to market with advisory-free MOT to January 2026.
