The Appeal
The lightweight fifth-generation CRX is undisputedly one of the greatest FWD driver’s cars ever built. And the JDM-only SiR is arguably the best CRX you can buy. It got Honda’s free-revving 1.6L 160bhp engine incorporating an early version of the firm’s clever VTEC technology.
This 1991 SiR arrived in the UK in 2007 and with the current keeper in 2016. It is an impressive car that benefits from a long list of improvements, including a full respray and an engine rebuild. We’re told it has never been welded. It is largely standard save for some choice upgrades and retains an array of desirable JDM features, including LSD box, folding mirrors and power steering. The vendor tells us that the displayed mileage of 55,971 km (34,778 miles) is correct, although this is not verified.
This is an enthusiast-owned SiR that is said to be well known within specialist circles. For added reassurance, it comes with advisory-free MOT to May 2026.
The vendor says:
“I like the fact that no one has one, you never see them on the road, the roar of the exhaust when it hits VTEC. It's such a classic and a real head turner.”

“I bought from the first UK owner roughly 8 years ago, as he hadn't driven it in over 9 years and was dry stored.
“The car was imported by Tegiwa in December 2006 on 16k, where it was bought by Si-d.
A lot of people have previously known this car and the condition it was in before I bought it.”
