The Appeal
The 4200GT added extra oomph to what is widely regarded as one of Giugiaro’s best GT profiles. Equipped with a new 390bhp 4.2L F136 engine, designed and built by Ferrari, a good example has few obvious peers.
Most cars were factory-equipped with the ‘CambioCorsa’ gearbox, but not this car. It is one of only 1,078 supplied with the now-sought-after 6spd manual box, which releases the car’s sporting capabilities.
Finished in Grigio Nuvolari with a gorgeous dark blue leather cabin, this 60,728-mile 4200GT is one of the nicest we’ve seen in a while. It has clearly been looked after, which we’re told is confirmed by a recent check over by a marque specialist. Enthusiasts will note key details like the well-kept switchgear that appears free of the scuffs and ‘sticky’ effect for which these cars can suffer.
The service history shows 13 stamps to 60,000 miles in 2024. It has covered less than 800 miles since. All work has been undertaken by Maserati main dealers and well-regarded specialists. The car is equipped with CIEKA Racing Coilover Suspension and X-Pipe exhaust modifications. The MOT runs to May 2026.
The vendor says:
“It is an outstanding example for its age, in beautiful condition both inside and out - lovely to drive. The renowned Maserati roar on start up is impressive as are the aesthetics of the cars overall condition.”
