The Appeal
The appeal of the 996 is that you can have it in any flavour you like. The first keeper of this one had proper taste because he chose iconic Guards Red, the grippy 4WD system and a manual box. Crucially, he also asked for the GT3 Gen 2 body kit, meaning the car left the factory along the GT3 line.
This is one really tidy 996 that benefits from the improvements applied to the final cars, including the larger 3.6L engine. It has covered less than 60,000 miles and across the interior and exterior is highly preserved. Other factory features include GT3 specification grey suede headlining with no sunroof, carbon pack, sports seats and Turbo wheel. As a final car it features the ‘smoked’ rear lights.
The vendor acquired the car in 2022 and has continued to invest in the car. He has spent £2,500 on a set of genuine Porsche GT3 alloys, a Quick Shifter kit and new red seatbelts front and rear.
The car has been well maintained. The service history runs to 500 miles ago and the MOT shows no advisories and runs to August 2026.
The vendor says:
“This is a very special 996. It was pulled off the production line and added to the GT3 production line, had the full GT3 Gen 2 body kit added in the very now rare colour of Guards Red, it had the suede headlining and no sunroof as in the full GT3s!
“If you want a super rare 996, not the ordinary rubbish, and will go up in value, then this is the car for you.”
