The Appeal
There’s no getting around this: the original E87 generation 1-Series brought back the much-needed ‘Hoon Factor’ to BMW’s range. Small, agile, beautifully balanced, engaging and, of course, still RWD, this car was built to deliver fun.
The fun factory really got going with this model, the E82 coupe, 310bhp N55-engined 3L straight six 135i. It really is one of the most entertaining coupes of recent years, and such is its drivability that sub-30,000-mile examples such as this one are like hen’s teeth.
Adding to that appeal is the history and specification. It arrived here in 2025 after a life on the salt-free roads of Japan, also benefitting from that country’s renowned high maintenance standards. Classically finished in Alpinweiss with a beige Boston leather interior and walnut veneer, it is a superbly preserved example.
Then there is the specification. There is a lengthy list of M Performance cosmetic upgrades outside, an AC Schnitzer wheel inside and, beneath, a set of the same firm’s uprated Bilstein shocks.
The vendor has checked the car over since it arrived in the UK and serviced the fluids, including brakes and engine, and changed the oil and air filters. It comes to market with lengthy MOT to February 2026 with no advisories.
