Built up from the remains On two different cars, one of which had engine number LT1578. The components have been sourced from The usual Leading speciailist including Neil Davies Racing, William Medcalf, BDC Vintage Spares Scheme etc with help during the restoration that came from the late John Hunt , William Medcalf and Neil Davies. The car is fitted with a 5. 3 litre block making for alarming performance. New chassis number RC1604 is currently fitted to the car.
This car was built up over a 14 year period by the current South African owner who went to meticulous lengths to restore the car sourcing as many original bits as possible. Overdriver is fitted to the car which in conjunction with the 5. 3 litre engine makes this a true 100MPH Bentley. In overdrive top at 2000 RMP the car is showing close to 80 MPH & does so in unruffled ease. This is without doubt one of the fastest & most long legged W. O. Benleys I have driven. As an octogenarian he has decided the time has come to part with his labor of love.
The specification is as follows:
Engine Original crankcase . Phoenix crank & con rods. Shell bearings . Arias pistons ( 110mm dia ) 5. 3 lire Block. Original cam chest with new camshaft, gears and rockers. Oil filter conversion ( ex William Medcalf ). Uprated water pump ( ex BDC ) High volume oil pump ( ex BDC).
Starter motor overhauled . Original cone clutch relined . Alternator conversion (ex NDR ) Original Sloper carbs Original magnetos refurbished. Original Autovac supplied by electric fuel pump. Original radiator refurbished and fitted with two electric fans.
All brake parts new and boosted with a Clayton Dewandre vacuum unit.
Original Gearbox rebuilt and with a new electrically operated overdrive unit.
New electric wiring harness to vintage spec. Period Marchel Headlights.
New Le Mans replica 4 seater body ( ash frame , aluminium cladding and fabric cover ) Full screen and aero screens Dual spot lights.

This is a full-on Le Mans style car on the short chassis with bundles of period bits. It drives beautifully & would be well suited to high speed touring or as a Peking to Paris entrant. Condition is brand new throughout. You really need to come & see & drive this car to appreciate how good it is.
