1927 Austin 12/ 4 Tourer
The Heavy Twelve, as these cars became known, following the introduction of the Light 12/ 4 in 1932, was the byword for dependability.
This is evident today by the impressive survival rate. She features some beautiful period details.
This Austin arrived in the UK from New Zealand during 2004, where we believe it had resided since new. In the present owners’ hands for the past 11 years the car has been carefully maintained with much expenditure on electrical and mechanical work.
Running very well and shod with excellent Firestone tyres, this Austin presents well in its livery of Brunswick Green with black buttoned hide upholstery. The body has clearly been extensively rebuilt in the past.
Included on file is the correct original handbook and the list of spare parts. Available from the owner if required are a spare gearbox, flywheel, clutch and head gasket plus another spare tyre.
For many years this model has been a cornerstone of the Vintage movement due in no small part to the famous ‘Gumdrop’ stories for children, by the late Val Biro, which have introduced many of our offspring, to the joys of vintage motoring.
The hood is in good order, together with the side curtains and hood bag. There is also a half tonneau cover.
