By the early-1970s, the Porsche 911 had hit its stride, and its iconic shape had become instantly recognizable to a future generation of collectors. Aside from the RS homologation specials, the “S” variant was the top production car specification, and 1973 was a desirable, watershed year, but it was then followed up in 1974, when Porsche increased the engine capacity to 2, 687 cubic centimeters, which allowed for increased torque and higher top-end horsepower of over 173.
