1956 BSA Gold Star DBD34 Registration Number: 169 XVX Frame Number: TBA - Nut and bolt specialist restoration to a very high standard, using mainly genuine BSA parts. The 500cc BSA Gold Star is probably the most famous and well known classic bike from the 1950s and 60s, as made famous by ‘Goldie‘ racing on the Isle of Man at the TT races. The 500cc DBD34 was introduced in 1956. It dominated the TT races and race circuits around the world, with its superb handling and top speed of over 110mph. The DBD34 was the pinnacle of the BSA development, with an ultra close ratio RTT2 gearbox, a very tall first gear gave a speed of over 60mph had to be achieved before you could shift into 2nd gear. This beautiful example has enjoyed a nut and bolt restoration to a very high standard, using mainly genuine BSA parts, which the vendor has sought out over the last 50 years. Currently fitted with a standard gearbox for road use, a RTT2 race gearbox is included in the sale. The bike has undergone just 17 test miles since completion and is ready for the road. A fabulous machine which is now ready to be ridden with pride.
