The Renault 4CV holds a special place in French automotive history as the country's first truly mass-produced car, becoming the first French vehicle to sell over a million units. Launched in 1947, this charming rear-engined saloon helped motorise post-war France and remains an endearing symbol of the era, not least as it was secretly developed under the German occupation.
This 1954 example comes to market having been carefully maintained as part of a classic car club since 2012, when the current owner acquired it following retirement. Significant work was undertaken in 2012, including a full engine rebuild and interior restoration, with the headliner and bodywork having been redone by the previous owner.
