The appeal
The Iso Milano Isetta is one of the most charming and most desirable post-war microcars for collectors.
Before its design was famously taken up under licence by BMW, it was the Italian manufacturer Iso that developed this clever little car, instantly recognisable thanks to its front door opening to the side and its compact two-stroke engine.
The examples originally produced in Italy are now particularly rare. A properly documented and preserved Isetta is therefore an uncommon opportunity for enthusiasts of historic microcars.
This 1957 example has benefited from a full restoration commissioned by the grandson of its first registered owner. According to the seller, the bodywork, paintwork, interior and mechanicals were all restored with care.
The cabin has been fully restored and the 236cc, single-cylinder two-stroke engine has undergone a complete rebuild. It has not yet been started up again since the work was completed and now awaits its first start-up.070.JPG15.94 MB
