The Appeal
With its pleated grille, body-colour dashboard and 2.6-litre straight-six engine with generous torque, the 100/6, and particularly the BN6, shorter and more elegant, represents one of the major evolutions of the 'Big Healey'. Produced for just one year, these cars are now rare and remain highly sought-after despite nearly 70 years of existence.
This red and black BN6 is the 214th left-hand drive BN6 to leave the production line and presents itself today in very good condition, ready to take to the road. It is understood to have been part of a significant collection in recent years and to have been carefully stored in dry conditions. The seller notes evidence of repairs to the bodywork and suspension, carried out to a high standard. A service is nonetheless recommended due to the car's limited use recently.
The 100/6 notably features an overdrive and equipment that make it well-suited to classic car rallies. Some further improvements could still be considered, but they can wait if the car is intended for use rather than display.
The seller states
- This vehicle comes from the collection of a true motoring enthusiast. It is in very good overall condition and has retained a high degree of authenticity and originality. It is precisely its excellent condition and authentic character that captivated us and prompted us to acquire it.
- On the road, this Austin-Healey 100 BN6 offers an authentic and characterful driving experience. Its engine is smooth and powerful, accompanied by a distinctly British sound that adds to the driving pleasure.
- The steering is direct and responsive, offering good road feel. Thanks to its low driving position and sporting character, the car delivers a particularly lively experience, whether on winding country roads or during more leisurely drives.
- The handling is solid and enjoyable, with that mechanical charm and 'old-school' driving sensation that define the personality of classic Austin-Healeys. A true pleasure car, ideal for enjoying country roads, wind in your hair.
