1959 Austin A35

Highlights

  • Only 49,000 miles from new, reportedly genuine
  • In current ownership since May 1990
  • Just two registered keepers from new
  • Front disc brakes
  • Original Cardiganshire 'dateless' number plate: 'JEJ 629'

The Appeal

Offered as Austin's alternative to the Morris Minor, the A30 and A35 were a series of compact family cars powered by BMC's inimitable A-Series engine. The A35 also proved quite successful in saloon car racing, thanks to its diminutive footprint and eminently tuneable powerplant; they're still a crowd-pleaser at Goodwood Member's Meetings.

This 1969 A35 shows just 49,000 miles on the odometer which we're informed is an accurate figure. The car has been in long-term ownership since 1990, with only two previous registered keepers from new. Presented in very smart condition throughout and brimming with period details like Lucas P700 headlamps and a Radiomobile radio, this little Austin would be a superb addition to any garage.

We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own  full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
