The Appeal
The Triumph 6T Thunderbird holds a special place in motorcycling history. Its 649cc parallel twin was the engine that put Triumph at the forefront of the performance motorcycle world in the 1950s, and the Thunderbird name became synonymous with British twin-cylinder prowess.
This 1959 example is presented as a preserved, unrestored motorcycle, a quality that is increasingly sought after by collectors who value patina and originality. The frame and engine numbers match, lending confidence to its authenticity. Registered in Italy since 2008, it has had just two former registered keepers, the most recent of whom kept the motorcycle for approximately nine years before it was acquired by the selling dealer in December 2025. Condition throughout is described as commensurate with age and use. Italian documents are reported to be in order for transfer.
