The Appeal
The Ducati 175SS was the sportiest road-going iteration of the 175cc family, derived directly from Fabio Taglioni's celebrated "Marianna" Gran Sport racing machines. Lightweight, nimble, and capable of speeds that belied its modest displacement, the Super Sport represented the sharp end of Ducati's single-cylinder range during a golden era for Italian sporting motorcycles.
This particular example is the sought-after dual spark plug variant, offering improved combustion over the standard configuration. It has been in the current owner's hands since 2002, during which time it was ridden by the owner's father in the Milano Taranto event. Since then, it has been stored indoors as part of a private motorcycle collection. The vendor describes it as a lightweight motorcycle with fantastic steering characteristics, and reports that the paintwork, chrome, and aluminium are all in good condition.
