The Attractions

Lightweight sports motorbikes were all the rage in the 1950s. Italian manufacturers were a benchmark in this sector, and Ducati was one of the main players. The 98 TS had an attractive design and was just as well built as the big sports bikes: the only difference was the small 98 cc single-cylinder engine. However, this should not suggest that it was an underperforming motorbike. On the contrary, experts found that the 98 offered much higher performance than could have been expected, thanks to its extremely low weight and its excellent engine, which lent itself particularly well to being upgraded.
This 1960 Ducati 98 TS is in excellent condition, having been the subject of a thorough and careful restoration carried out by the previous owner. The carburettor was recently overhauled and we are told it is ready to be driven.
