The Appeal
Arguably the most iconic Sports Saloon ever built on the British Isles, the Mark 2 inspires a very real sense of patriotism the moment you glance at it. Everything here was designed to meet the slogan dreamt up by William Lyons: Grace . . . Space . . . Pace. It's undeniable that the curvy, distinguished car was just the ticket, with everything from its interior trim to its glasswork giving a light, airy sense of luxury.
The MK2 continues to defy its venerable years - these classics are still in high demand, having become well known for their well-balanced characteristics and distinctive old-money aesthetic. They're still surprisingly capable too - even if the smaller engines aren't quite as fast on their feet.
This car is quite the example, having been in the same family for around 40 years, and offers a great opportunity - either as a classic, regular driver or fine starting point for cosmetic restoration.
