Engine and running gear reported to be in usable order
The Appeal
The Daimler V8 is one of the most characterful saloons of the 1960s, pairing the elegant Jaguar Mk2 body with Daimler's own silky 2.5-litre V8 and its distinctive exhaust note. This was the first Daimler to be based upon a Jaguar platform, and it proved a magical pairing from the off. Lighter and more refined than its six-cylinder sibling, courtesy of the hemispherical-head V8 designed by Edward Turner, this was a car with genuine sporting pedigree, offering a unique blend of effortless performance and understated charm that has long endeared it to enthusiasts.
This 1963 example was acquired in 2024 as a restoration project and has since benefited from meaningful mechanical attention, with a comprehensive file of parts purchased and receipts for work carried out accompanying the car. The vendor describes the overall condition as fair for the age but in need of further attention, and, for our money, looks like a fabulous prospect for a project. image.png1.42 MB
