Everyone loves the Mark 2, but the truly enlightened know that the S-Type was a better car.

This 1965 example combines the desirable 3.4-litre straight-six engine with the practical advantage of a four-speed manual overdrive transmission, creating a fine grand touring machine.

Having spent over four decades with a single keeper, this S-Type has clearly been cherished. The current owner has invested significantly in preserving its originality while addressing key comfort elements, including a sympathetic interior refurbishment that retained the original leather. Registered as a collector's vehicle in France with a long-validity technical inspection, this Jaguar would be a super addition to any garage.

The Condition

The car body presents in very good condition with no major imperfections according to the vendor
Floor panels appear in very good order and can be assessed in the photographs
Paint has cracking in certain areas (rear trunk, roof, hood)
Apart from the cracking, the paint presents well overall
Interior has been intentionally kept original
In 2022, the current owner had all front seats and bench seat redone with new foam while keeping the original leather
The leather is quite heavily worn in places but remains serviceable
All woodwork was replaced
Door pillars and door trim were also replaced

3.4-litre XK DOHC straight-six

Ignition system recently serviced
Front and rear suspension silent blocks are reportedly in very good condition
Play in the steering noted by the vendor
Shock absorbers: significant difference between right and left detected
