Highlights
- Pretty light blue early B in very good condition
- Heritage shell restoration by Titan MG specialists
- 150bhp 1,905cc Fast Road engine with 5-speed gearbox upgrade
- Retrimmed interior in black with light blue piping
The Appeal
This standard-looking B is as pretty as it is potent. An older restoration by Titan MG using a Heritage shell, its attractive Iris Blue paintwork conceals a heavily upgraded 1,950cc Fast Road engine that has been dyno tested at 150bhp plus a long-legged 5spd manual box in 2012.
The work was done in 2004, but you would hardly know. The bodywork is well presented, and the panel fit neatly flush while the chrome shines. Inside there is a retrimmed interior with period-correct features in black with light blue piping to match the paintwork.
The engine was apparently built and developed by MG specialist for the previous owner in 2012 to a David Alston specification, which is described in the photos. The vendor tells us that it delivers a quick car that is perfect for modern driving.
A well-modified B like this one makes a great weekend car or a companion for touring events and rallies. This car has the appeal of a standard-looking early B with some well-regarded improvements.
The vendor says:
“Starts and runs beautifully. Fast road engine and 5 speed gearbox combined with electronic ignition means the car can keep up with modern traffic yet looks completely original
“Fabulous to drive. Only used in dry but could be a daily driver due to sympathetic modifications.”
