The Appeal

Much like what is said of the 1.6-liter 205 GTi versus its 1.9 sibling, it's the smaller 3.4-liter Jaguar XK engine that is regarded as the smoothest and sweetest in the Mk2 range. The free-revving 3.4-liter Mk2, in manual/overdrive (MOD) guise, could still reach 120 mph and was also known to consume less oil than its 3.8 counterpart.

Six decades on, they still feel genuinely quick, making them highly usable even on 21st-century roads, and those William Lyons lines look as graceful as ever. We're delighted to present this lovely 1966 example, a matching-numbers, UK right-hand drive car finished in Silver Blue Metallic over Navy Blue hide.

With just three former registered keepers, this Jag has led a sheltered life. The paintwork presents well for an older restoration, while the original hide interior has aged gracefully alongside carpets, headliner, and wood veneer that are all reported to be in good order. A power steering kit from SNG Barratt has been fitted, and the original radio has been modernized to receive FM via a new speaker.

Recently serviced by Jaguar specialists and with a recently obtained MOT, this Mk2 is described as ready to drive away and enjoy.

✓ We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do, and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorcycles for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no financing owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic, and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status, and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own  full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
