The Appeal
Triumph's compact saloons of the 1960s have long been cherished for their cheerful character, simple mechanicals and genuine usability. With a willing 1,200cc four-cylinder engine and a slick four-speed manual gearbox, the Herald in particular offers an accessible and rewarding entry point into classic ownership - a little different to the Morris Minor and that ilk, and undeniably more fun.
This 1966 example benefits from a reassuring provenance, having been bequeathed to the seller's family by their uncle, a vehicle mechanic by trade. It is accompanied by an A4 folder brimming with documentation, including the original purchase receipt, log book, historic MOTs, tax discs and numerous receipts for parts and labour. Mechanically, the car has been treated to a thorough brake overhaul, a reconditioned differential, a replacement radiator and a new alternator. The bodywork has been attended to with new panels and sills where required, and the vendor reports no apparent rust or rot on the body or underside.
Fitted with four new tyres and a new headliner, and believed to retain its factory-standard engine, this is a straightforward classic that's now ready and waiting for its lucky new keeper.

SellerThe car was left to my children by their uncle in his will and so I can only tell you what I see and what is in the receipts. I don’t believe that the car has had a full body respray, however there has been body parts replaced over the years and this has been done to a high standard. As for the doors, there is no problem with them as I can see. Hope this answers your questions. Tony
