The Appeal
Other classics may wax and wane in popularity, but there are so many good reasons why the MGB is the perennial favourite of clubs and enthusiasts: it’s very easy to own, relatively cheap to run, there are massive parts, owner and specialist support, and, of course, it looks great.
This lovely 1967 B is one of the nicest we’ve seen in a long while. Classically finished in British Racing Green, a colour that nicely accents the wide chrome wires and bright bumpers, it is the result of a professional 2017 restoration that is said to have cost £17,500. The work included renovating the body, underside, original panels, retrimming the interior and rebuilding the engine. The overdrive unit has also been overhauled.
The vendor acquired the car in 2022 and has used it sparingly. He tells us that he has covered 600 miles, yet has had the car serviced twice and been fitted with electronic ignition. Always garaged, the car has never been used in the rain since he bought it. It is a further mark of his approach that it comes with a voluntary MOT valid to August 2026. That is useful extra transparency for buyers.
The vendor says:
“As far as MGB Roadster’s go, this must be one of the best available right now. It’s in the right colour, BRG, it’s the right year, 1967, and it also has the beautiful chrome wire wheels. On top of all that, the car requires for absolutely nothing. It’s literally a turn of the key, roof down, and off you go. Someone is going to get a gorgeous little roadster for the summer.”
