Highly original example in good, usable condition with scope to improve
US import now UK road-registered and MOT/road tax exempt
Extensive mechanical refurbishment carried out in 2026
Previously dry-stored in a garage for several years with fluids drained for preservation
The Appeal
Mustangs, Camaros, and Chargers are everywhere, so a Buick Skylark is a much more original choice. On UK roads in particular, you may never see another example in a lifetime of driving, so this stylish, underrated American pillar-less coupé would be an excellent choice for those seeking something a little out of the ordinary.
The late 1960s Buick Skylark is a fine example of American muscle-era motoring at its zenith. Its 5.7-litre V8 and three-speed automatic make it supremely drivable even on modern roads, a worthy ambassador for the golden age of Detroit motor manufacture.
This white example is reported to be very solid, having most recently spent several years in dry garage storage with fluids drained to preserve it. Since acquiring the car in April 2026, the current owner has undertaken a substantial mechanical refurbishment encompassing new suspension components throughout, fresh ignition parts, a new water pump and fuel pump, and a rebuilt and upgraded carburettor. Dual side exhausts with Flowmaster Series 40 mufflers have also been fitted. Now registered on UK plates, it is ready to be enjoyed on British roads.
The vendor describes this as a presentable, driver-quality car with minor cosmetic blemishes befitting its age. New carpet has been fitted throughout, and the vendor states the dashboard is in very good condition with no cracks. The rear seats are described as being in very nice condition, though the front bench seat requires reupholstering and the chrome is noted as tired. A vacuum leak causing occasional hesitation and slight smoke from the engine suggests the next owner may wish to attend to these items, along with a fuel tank that needs cleaning internally. Nevertheless, the car is said to drive, shift, and stop smoothly. It's a solid foundation for someone looking to take a characterful American classic to the next level.IMG_4043 Peter Szilagyi.jpg7.89 MB
