The Appeal

Some classic cars are meant to be displayed, others to be driven and enjoyed on the road. This well-equipped DS clearly belongs to the latter category. It benefits from a mechanically upgraded specification and has proven particularly reliable, both for daily use and on long journeys.

The seller indicates he purchased this DS "Option 5", equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox and a 2.0-litre engine, in 2022. Since then, he has notably replaced the chassis, installed a fully rebuilt engine and overhauled the radiator by replacing it with a three-row model, compared to two for the original equipment.

The hydraulic system has also been completely restored and the gearbox serviced. The owner uses the car regularly and reports that it has recently completed without issue a long journey between Aix-en-Provence and Reims.

The car sports a two-tone blue and white paint scheme that is said to have been applied in the 1980s. It shows various signs of its age today, but remains generally presentable. Inside, the black leather trim offers the characteristic comfort of the DS, although some elements could be improved by the next owner.

Given the numerous mechanical and structural works already carried out, this DS provides a solid foundation to enjoy immediately one of the most iconic French saloons of the twentieth century, whilst leaving the possibility to continue its restoration according to your wishes.
