The Appeal
Two seater convertible fans have the MGB and camper enthusiasts have the Veedub T2, two vehicles that do what they’re designed to do, and what buyers want them to do, perfectly. With the sort of service, parts supply and owner support normally associated with new cars, they’re easy to live with too.
This 1971 T2 Westfalia spent its life in California, no doubt surf-adjacent, until 2006 when it arrived in the UK. The current keeper acquired it in 2008. We’re told that since arriving here it has featured in an ITV programme with Jensen Button.
Daisy Belle’ is a pretty and well-specified camper with an very appealing colour scheme. The condition is similarly engaging, the van presenting well across the usual T2 check areas and with an especially attractive two-tone interior. There are a few points to note to the bodywork in the photos, but nothing that couldn’t be lived with or appears that it would respond to light titivation.
Beneath the rear lid is a useful power upgrade to a 2L air cooled unit, that addresses perhaps the only downside of standard-engined T2 ownership. Those Devon and Cornwall hills should pose no challenge now.
The van is, of course, MOT exempt, but there is a useful recent test that ran to late 2023 with no advisories. It comes to market with a recent service and new shock absorbers.
