The Appeal
The C107 SLC blends the low, sleek elegance of the R107 roadster with the extra space and comfort of a 2+2 GT coupe. Often eclipsed by their cabriolet counterparts, these cars nonetheless rank among the best long-distance grand touring cars of the 1970s.
Here's an excellent opportunity to discover why. Registered for the first time in September 1972, this road-ready SLC is equipped with the 3.5-litre V8 M116 engine and presents in a striking white body with blue interior. The equipment includes sought-after factory options such as the “Mexican Hat” alloy wheels and the large steel sliding sunroof.
The car comes with a substantial history file including several old documents, including the original purchase invoice. Recent work includes the replacement of brake discs, pads and calipers, as well as wheel refurbishments. New dampers have also been installed and a service has been carried out. In February 2025, the vehicle benefited from €2,727 of work including injector replacement, timing chain, various cooling system repairs and thermostat replacement. The current technical inspection was renewed in August 2025 and is visible in the photographs.
The vehicle still offers some potential for further improvement, but given the substantial work already done, these refinements could be viewed as progressive upgrades.
