Why you’ll love it
With so many Type 2s now converted into campervans or day-to-day vans, it’s especially nice to come across an example that has retained its original Microbus layout. This 1974 model wins you over with its well-cared-for presentation and elegant red-and-black livery, carried all the way through to the cabin.
The vehicle has remained largely faithful to its original specification, with the exception of a few interior appointments and a set of polished SSF Sprintstar wheels that give it a particularly striking look. Along with its many seating positions, it has a large, retractable canvas sunroof. The seller states this is an example with matching serial numbers, supplied with its valid Belgian technical inspection certificate.
The seller acquired this Type 2 in 2016. Since then, it is said to have benefited from regular maintenance, allowing it to start easily and run without trouble.
The seller adds:
“A very well-liked vehicle that turns heads everywhere it goes and earns plenty of approving nods. The drive is enjoyable and there are no nasty surprises.”IMG-20260701-WA0006.jpg634.63 KB

This sale is subject to the general terms and conditions of Car & Classic. By bidding and/or submitting an offer, you also agree to the following:
✓ The seller is registered as a private seller, meaning consumer rights arising from European consumer protection legislation do not apply. However, you are still covered by Car & Classic’s general terms and conditions.
✓ We ask that non-refundable fees are paid if you are the successful bidder at auction or if your offer is accepted. Please refer to our FAQs and general terms and conditions for the specific charges.
✓ This vehicle is “sold as seen”, on a “tel quel, où il se trouve” basis and without any warranty. The photos and descriptions are provided for guidance only and it is standard practice to arrange a full vehicle inspection prior to purchase for your own peace of mind.
✓ VAT is included in the buyer’s deposit. VAT may or may not be included in the final price of the offer or bid, as specified in the listing.
✓ We want the transaction to run smoothly, just as you do, and that’s why cars and motorcycles registered in the UK and listed on Car & Classic are subject to an HPI check to verify that they have no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and that they are not subject to any financial lien, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off following a total loss at the time the advert is posted on Car & Classic and we provide category write-off labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. The presence or absence of a label does not, however, guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always useful to carry out a thorough vehicle history check before placing a bid.
✓ Buyers are responsible for collection or delivery of the vehicle. Importing vehicles can result in additional customs duties and import taxes. If you’d like, we can recommend a third-party transport company to help. For more details and to speak to the team, email auctions@carandclassic.com.
